The Pink Kit
|
One day my perception of life changed. I found out that one of my acquaintances was diagnosed with breast cancer and both of her breasts had to be removed.
Breast cancer… Is there any other sickness that affects our femininity, our pride and our uniqueness more than anything else?!
How to help, how to cure, how to give hope? I was just starting my enterprise « Scrapmagie » when this news hit me. I did not know how to react, nor did I know how to find the right words to speak to her. The solution came when I saw he after the operation. It was absolutely incredible, nothing changed in her behavior, she continued to smile, she stayed friendly and welcoming, she still continued her daily walks greeting everybody as if nothing had changed around her. I want to take my hat off to her every time I see her. Without knowing it she shows me how life is precious, fragile and beautiful. And yes, life is beautiful, no matter what.
This is the message associated with pink ribbon – the symbol of the fight against breast cancer. That is how the idea of the pink kit came to me. $5 of each sale of this kit will go to Quebec’s Breast Cancer Foundation.
Who knows, may be we could help other women to fight this sickness or we could help to find the remedy that would heal them once and for all because of this donation.
I dedicate this kit to all the women who fight breast cancer today, to all the women who lost this fight and to all the women who won it. To your strong character, to your courage, and to your hope!!!
Pink is woman’s fetish color.
Our mothers dressed us in pink from the time of our birth till the time when we started to have our own opinion on how we dress. But we continued to see the life in pink when everything goes well even when this color starts to disappear from our wardrobe, we are always happy to see it is coming back to fashion. Even when we do not buy these pink clothes we like to see them on the displays. When we become mothers pink becomes once again the most beautiful color on earth, because this is the color of our child’s skin.
And if we have a daughter, it is now us who dress her in pink. And life continues.
